Chocolate – choose wisely.
Choose to save the ecosystem, migratory birds.
Choose to support life, terminate child labor.
Choose here…

Michael Pollan “He showed the words “chocolate cake” to a group of Americans and recorded their word associations. “Guilt” was the top response. If that strikes you as unexceptional, consider the response of French eaters to the same prompt: “celebration.”

This Wednesday evening, Slow Food South Bay will have a Chocolate Tasting event at “The Chocolate Garage.”

Advance payment for this event is necessary, please go to:

Join us for an intimate evening with the best bean-to-bar chocolate from around the world. Slow Food South Bay supports The Chocolate Garage because this business focuses not only on fair compensation and conditions for farmers and harvesters, but also supports the integrity of the entire process: from field to bar.

Also, in order to have unique flavors found only at the Chocolate Garage, the owner works closely with makers to curate distinct flavors, optimizing the “terroir” of the beans. Come hear her stories, and get a taste of her perspective of this fragile and fascinating industry.

This is your opportunity to:

  • understand the difference in taste and integrity of high-quality chocolate versus the main-stream chocolate;
  • advocate for cacao that is grown to protect the environment and the workers;
  • celebrate with like-minded friends.
