Free Screening of “The Biggest Little Farm”

Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST), Patagonia Palo Alto, Kitchen Table AdvisorsSlow Food South Bay and Hidden Villa are pleased to invite to you the free screening in San Jose of The Biggest Little Farma film that chronicles the eight-year quest of John and Molly Chester as they trade city living for 200 acres of barren farmland and a dream to harvest in harmony with nature.

Featuring breathtaking cinematography, captivating animals, and an urgent message to heed Mother Nature’s call, The Biggest Little Farm provides us all a vital blueprint for better living and a healthier planet.

Doors will open for the screening at 6:00. Come early and meet representatives from local farming groups, or enjoy some refreshments from the concession stand. The film will start promptly at 7:00 PM and has a runtime of 1 hour, 32 minutes. 

Farm to Fork to Film – Dinner & Film Celebrating Women in Food

Join Filmmaker Joanna James, Slow Food San Francisco, and host Airbnb for an evening of food, film, and friends celebrating female heroes in the food system. This special advanced screening is part of an 11-State Screening Tribute Tour of A Fine Line, in honor of Women’s History Month. Being recognized will be the tremendous work of Tanya Holland, award-winning chef, author, and Oakland restaurateur of Brown Sugar Kitchen; winemaker Kim Nicholls of Markham Winery, winemaker Heidi Bridenhagen of MacRostie Winery.

Umunhum: Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Celebrate indigenous stewardship and cultural conservation while viewing the short film Umunhum, which will transport you to the sacred site of the Amah Mutsun creation story. In partnership with the Amah Mutsun Land Trust, Hidden Villa will host a special screening of the film in our Dana Center. After the screening, learn even more about the great collaboration that has made the return of the Amah Mutsun to Mt. Umunhum possible from a panel discussion featuring members of the Tribal Band, the Land Trust and the film’s producer.
