Spring & Summer Vegetable Garden Class

It’s time to plant your spring and summer vegetable garden: those wonderful salad greens, and vegetables, such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and many others.

In this beginning/overview class you will learn how to:

  • Plan your spring and summer vegetable garden,
  • Determine the best location and plant vegetable seedlings,
  • Maintain, irrigate and harvest your plants.

Presenter Master Gardener Jonathan Propp:  Jonathan has been a Master Gardener since 2008. He lectures frequently on growing organic fruits and vegetables in the home garden.

Winning the War on Weeds – Los Gatos

The rains are bringing much needed water to our gardens, but also sprouting pesky weed seeds that hide in the soil. Come learn simple techniques and tricks to minimize time and effort spent ridding your garden of weeds. Bring along weed samples from your yard for identification and removal strategies. Owner of the landscape company California Nativescapes, Rebecca Schoenenberger, specializes in creating beautiful, sustainable, and economical gardens appropriate for California. She has extensive knowledge of native plants and the environments where they thrive. Since 2011, Rebecca has also been a volunteer Santa Clara County Master Gardener.
